 2008-2010 Subaru WRX / STI Aluminum Engine Under Tray Skid Plate

This aluminum skid plate/splash guard is a direct fit for your Subaru WRX or STI.  It replaces the OEM plastic splash guard panel which offers little protection and generally has many problems.  It offers built-in trap doors for both oil drain plug and oil filter.  Unlike many splash shields and skid plates on the market, this also offers ventilation as well as complete side brackets for additional support.   It comes with new hardware - especially important as this goes ALL THE WAY to your front bumper and doesn't stop at the radiator support - it will replace the stock push clips with speed nuts and bolts.  This will give your WRX or STI support on the front bumper while maintaining optimal air channeling under the vehicle with this aluminum splash shield.  Test off road in mud and various applications - this skid plate will keep your engine bay clean and protect your vital components.

Installation Hardware is Included with each aluminum splash shield - It will replace the plastic clips on the bumper with a more permanent solution using bolts and speed nuts

    Modification for Aftermarket Oil Pan

    It has great quality and seems to be durable. Everything aligns perfectly, but had to do some modifications for the IAG oil pan. I used some heavy duty metal standoffs to bring the big piece down a bit more in the back and on the sides with a longer bolt for the very back one. The oil drain plug cover is useless for this oil pan, so I had to drill a hole for the drain plug in the skid plate. Everything else is on point. I already was figuring I was going to have to do some modifications anyway so it was all good.

    No modification needed on 2009 sti with a 2014 front bumper. Great fitment and it didn't interfere with my front lip! One note though the aluminum side pieces (that go up to the fender well) cover less than the previous plastic ones, not much but it is slightly further forward and more towards the inside of the car. They also use a different mounting location which seems more solid.

    I order this to swap out my oem under tray. Overall the quality is great but on my 09 wrx hatchback with premium bumper I did have to modify it a bit. Be sure to put larger piece on first to but leave the front 2 bolts loose to tuck the front piece under. I did have to drill 2 new holes in my bumper and 2 more in the front plate because the holes didn’t line up but was relatively easy to do. Really tightened up the front bumper and and gives a cleaner look from the front. Overall happy with it and I only gave it 4 stars because I had to modify it to fit.

    The skid plate fit our 2010 WRX without any modification. I did have to make two small connectors for the front outside connections to the front valence. It included all of the hardware we needed.

    So I bought this because I was fixing up a 2009 Impreza 2.5i to give to a relative who needs an all wheel drive commuter car for Michigan winters and the factory engine under tray was missing and Subaru charges like $150 shipping and handling to order one online (plus the item price). I bought this because I read somewhere it fits the 2.5i (non-turbo). Well....out the box it doesn't. The N/A headers hang too low on the passenger side. I was however able to add 0.75-1.0" spacers on the side pieces where it connects to the frame (think rectangle rubber strips superglued to the aluminum on both sides of the slot with a longer bolt in the middle with stacked washers). I also had to move the front mounting hole back a few inches on the passenger side and cut away a triangle piece where the old hole was. Lastly I had to bend a corner on the very back passenger side where it was going to hit the exhaust again. After all my mods it fits nicely and only hangs down slightly more than it would have un-modded. After all the modding I honestly would buy it again after all is said and done.

    Solid build, some quirks on '08 fitment (ELH)

    Fit & finish on this is pretty solid. This does clear Full-Race ELH (not wrapped) with a couple mm of clearance, however the side panels need to be cut to fit both the O2 sensor and some misc wiring on the other side. Had some fitment issues with the piece that connects to the front bumper. Only bolts up to 3 of the 5 holes on the '08 bumper. Also was having trouble getting the holes to lined up with the front piece and the large middle piece that bolt up to the radiator support.
